After forty two years the series of regular public barn dances at Godalming Borough Hall, GBH Ceilidhs, is drawing to a close. The penultimate dance will be held on Saturday 21st April at 8.00pm when top local band Second Front makes its third visit to the venue.
The members of the band also play with The Innistor Scottish Ceilidh Dance Band so the evening will feature authentic Scottish ceilidh dances as well as the usual mix of reels, jigs, polkas and slow waltzes.
Those of you who do not regularly barn dance need not fear as the band regularly plays for local weddings, schools and family gatherings and it is used to an audience of enthusiastic beginners. The main aim of the band’s caller, Bridget Flett, is to make the dancing enjoyable for everyone, from non-dancer to expert, and ensure that everybody has a good time.
