Christmas Festival & Lights Switch-On 2019

Godalming Town Council is delighted to welcome you to this year’s exciting Christmas Festival and Lights Switch-on.

Thank you to the Charterhouse Club for generously sponsoring the Godalming Christmas Festival and Lights Switch-on , Saturday, 30 November 2019 from 10.00am until 6.00pm.

There will be something for everyone, browse over 60 Christmas gift and craft stalls located in the High Street, Crown Court and Church Street for all your present ideas.  Enjoy some delicious street food and drink plus the town’s range of independent shops will be open for you to search out unique gifts.  Ride the Christmas ponies in Church Street, the Dobby Horse Carousel in Crown Court.  Visit Santa in his Grotto, Kiddies’ Corner in the Wilfrid Noyce Centre and take a break from shopping and enjoy The Meath’s home-made fayre.  Have your picture taken in the sparkly Christmas Orb and enjoy a packed programme of entertainment by talented local artists who will be performing at The Pepperpot through the day.  Yvonne Arnaud’s Panto this year is Sleeping Beauty and we look forward to welcoming the stars to Godalming for the Christmas Festival.

Sleeping Beauty Panto Stars Switch on Godalming’s dazzling Christmas Lights

See Holly Tandy, Jamie Brook and Yolanda Ovide with Eagle Radio’s Simon Rose who will be counting down to the switch on of the lights.

X Factor finalist, Holly Tandy will be starring as Sleeping Beauty! Holly will be appearing alongside Guildford’s favourite Kit Hesketh-Harvey as the Bad Fairy

Carabosse, Eagle Radio’s Peter Gordon as Nanny Fanny and everyone’s favourite Brummie Jamie Brook as Muddles.

When evil fairy, Carabosse doesn’t receive an invitation to Princess Aurora’s christening, she casts a curse on her. Can the Good Fair and Muddles protect Aurora? Will the Prince save the day?

Elf Catchers – We Need You!

To celebrate the Godalming Christmas Festival and Lights Switch On, event sponsors Charterhouse Club are running a competition to find Christmas Elves throughout the high street and Church Street.

Ten cheeky Christmas elves have escaped from Charterhouse Club, our friendly health and fitness centre, and have ended up in a number of our local shops! During the festival, simply visit their stall opposite Caffè Nero to pick up your official ‘Elf Tracker Card’ and then you can start your search.

David Webb, Charterhouse Club Manager said: “We hope that the local community will join us for this fantastic occasion which provides something for everyone to enjoy in the run up to Christmas. The Charterhouse Club team look forward to welcoming visitors to our stall and we hope that lots of Elf Trackers will help us to find all our escaped elves. We have lots of prizes up for grabs for everyone who takes part including the chance to win a 6-month family membership to the Club.”
