DESCRIPTION:SONNET WALKS COME TO GODALMING \nAs well as being St George’s Day\, 23 April is widely recognised as the day on which William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564. Across the birthday weekend itself\, the popular SONNET WALK WEEKEND (23 & 24 April) will take to the streets for its 9th incarnation. Part immersive adventure\, part mystery tour\, 28 hour-long performances will see groups of walkers following an especially designed self-guided route. Along the way they’ll encounter actors in everyday settings poised to share a sonnet or speech… but where are they\, and who’s an actor and who’s not?! \nThis year for the first time\, courtesy of the Guildford Shakespeare Company\, the walks will be taking to the streets of GODALMING\, revealing some of the town’s hidden heritage gems along the way.
