DESCRIPTION:The Godalming Film Society is extremely happy to announce the start of its 15th season and plan to return to the Borough Hall in Godalming to screen films in-venue from Tuesday\, 7 September 2021. \nWe are a members only society which celebrates cinema by screening films that are rarely seen on the main circuit\, with an emphasis on world cinema. \nIf you love film and have missed the big screen experience and the opportunity to meet with friends; please come along to one of our screenings….check out our website  which includes the season’s programme. There will be a new line up of 18 films this season – all on Tuesdays at the usual time of 7:45 pm. \nFor the 15th season we have a wonderful selection of films to show – classics new and old such as The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and Minari; films from the UK\, Iceland\, Japan\, and more; stars like Catherine Deneuve\, Walter Matthau\, and Frances McDormand; and movies covering 11 different genres! \nAfter a year of successfully delivering our films online to members\, we cannot wait to be seeing films on the big screen with you all again. \nThe complete details of all the films we intend to show this season are available on our website\, along with information about our plans for the season ahead. \nIt is extremely easy to join. \nIf you would like to join or re-join\, please download the membership form from the website\, fill it out and email back to us at me*****@******************rg.uk Membership is £35 for the year and gives you entry to all streaming/screenings of our films. SUMMARY:Godalming Town Guided History Walks - Summer 2022
DESCRIPTION:Come along and learn about the town’s fascinating and sometimes surprising history.  Looking at the buildings and landscape tells us much about Godalming’s past. \nThere are two walks alternating throughout the summer.  The first looks at the town’s ‘industrial’ past (Walk 1) whereas the second looks at the town’s former coaching inns and their role and High Street and Bridge Street (Walk 2).  Both walks are relatively easy walking on public footpaths around the town and usually take about 1.5 hours each. \nNo booking is required\, the walks are free\, just turn up at The Pepperpot at 2.30pm. \nThe dates for this year are the following Saturdays: \n14 May – Walk 1\n11 June – Walk 2\n9 July – Walk 1\n13 August – Walk 2 \nPlease check the Godalming Trust website for any updates to this programme.\nFor more information please contact the Godalming Trust

DESCRIPTION:The Godalming Run and takes place on Sunday\, 22 May\, at the Phillips Memorial Park. This year marks the 10th anniversary of this special community event\, and organisers are calling for runners of all ages and abilities to register for a 1k Fun Run\, 5k\, or 10k race online at godalmingrun.co.uk. \nTo find out more or to register\, please visit the Godalming Run website. \nChallenging 5k & 10k races through the countryside and around Godalming in the heart of the Surrey Hills\, including a section through the grounds of Charterhouse public school\, so picture postcard stuff\, plus there is a great 1k Fun Run for the kids. \nThe Godalming run was first established as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012 and to celebrate the London Olympics.
