Godalming High Street roadworks delayed due to ‘a few problems’ with the weather
Businesses will be “impacted” for one more week in Godalming town centre after “a few problems” with the weather caused a delay in the planned improvement works.
This first stage of Surrey County Council‘s (SCC) scheduled improvements to the cobbles, speed ramps and footpaths in High Street is nearing completion.
However, the works will take an additional week to complete, the county council has warned.
A spokesman for SCC said: “The work in High Street has so far been met by very positive feedback from local businesses and residents and the current phase is due to finish early March.
“The work was due to finish on February 26 but will now finish March 4 due to a few problems with the weather a few weeks ago.
“Phases two and three of this work will get under way in the new financial year once we receive our annual funding.”
