Notice of By Election – Binscombe Ward, Godalming
Due to the resignation of Frank Young, a vacancy has arisen for a Godalming Town Councillor for the Binscombe Ward. Subject to there being sufficient nominations, a by election will be held in conjunction with the Surrey County Council election on the 4 May 2017, to fill this vacancy.
A spokesman for Godalming Town Council said “Godalming Town Council has regretfully accepted the resignation of Cllr Frank Young. Cllr Young has found it increasingly difficult to balance his full time job in London, family commitments as well as his responsibilities as a town councillor and fulfilling his duties of representing the residents of Binscombe.”
For those interested in standing as a Town Councillor for this ward, nomination packs may be requested in the following ways: by emailing [email protected]; by visiting Waverley Borough Council offices, The Burys, Godalming, GU7 1HR and speaking to Electoral Services or by calling Electoral Services on 01483 523116. Nomination packs will be available from Thursday, 23 March 2017 and all nomination papers must be submitted by appointment to the Returning Officer, or his Deputy, in person from Monday, 27 March 2017 between 10.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday up until 4.00pm on Tuesday, 4 April 2017.
