In Memoriam: love is strong as death
Godalming Choral Society’s next exciting concert marks 80 years since VE day. The Godalming Choral Society presents a moving musical tribute marking 80 years since VE Day, honouring the courage and sacrifice of WWII veterans—many now centenarians—and remembering those who have passed.
The concert is being held on Saturday, 29 November at 7.30pm, at St John’s Church Farncombe GU7 3EJ and will feature a blend of reflective, grateful, and uplifting music, including:
- Choruses from Duruflé’s Requiem and Brahms’ German Requiem
- Film music by John Williams (Saving Private Ryan, Schindler’s List)
- Elgar’s Nimrod for cello and piano
- Upon Your Heart by Canadian composer Eleanor Daley
A heartfelt evening of remembrance and celebration—don’t miss it.
